Message from the Club President
I am writing to advise you of the steps we have had to take in relation to the Club following the latest Government announcement about the steps required of clubs, pubs and restaurants to prevent the further spread of the Covid 19 virus.
The club was closed on Friday March 20th and will remain so for the foreseeable future. Whilst this will affect all of us who regularly use the premises for bowls , snooker, fishing meetings and general socialising it was necessary both to comply with the new Guidance and also to ensure that we do not cause the spread of the virus amongst you our members.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and hope that we have your support at this difficult time .
Whilst the club has closed we have however been taking measures to safeguard our long term future and ensure that when the crisis subsides we are in a good position to get back to normal. These include:
Safeguarding the position of the Stewardess
Applying for the financial relief being offered by the Government
Continuing the regular maintenance of the green.
Ensuring the maintenance of the bar and rest of the premises
Contacting our suppliers
Reducing expenditure to a minimum
Examining ways of keeping you the members regularly updated which will include updates on the website
I and your Committee assure you that we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure this enforced break does not threaten the long term viability of our much treasured club and that when the time comes we can return as strongly as before.
In the meantime we on the Committee are aware that many of our members will be in the group described by the Government as vulnerable ( as are many of us as well!!) and therefore our best wishes go out to all of you. Look after yourselves and keep well - we want to see you all back soon.
We look forward to an end to the crisis and to seeing you all again in the ( hopefully ) not too distant future
