As you are probably aware the club has been open for a limited amount of bowling for the past few weeks but now following the latest Government guidance I am pleased to advise you that after a long and difficult period we are able to reopen the whole of the club for bowling, snooker and social activities with effect from Saturday 4th July.
The Coronavirus pandemic is still not over and therefore we will need to take every precaution to ensure your safety and the safety of our Stewardess as we seek to return slowly to business as normal.
This will mean that some restrictions will have to be in place to facilitate the reopening and the Committee have been working hard to ensure that everything is ready.
We hope that the arrangements that will be applied will enable you and your family to enjoy the club facilities. These are as follows:
Members should not attend the club if they have any symptoms of the Virus.
We will keep a signing in record of people attending the club in case this is needed for track and trace purposes.
Social distancing ( now 1 metre plus) will be required and so some tables may be removed.
When ordering drinks members should stand back to the marked line whilst the Stewardess processes their order and only one person at a time should make an order.
Members must use the hand sanitisers available in the club and on the veranda
The use of the toilets will be restricted to one person at a time with hand and door handle sanitisation required after use
Only two snooker tables will be in use and these for singles games only - separate guidance on restrictions will be posted in the snooker room.
Only three singles matches will be allowed on the bowling green at any one time - the existing guidance for bowls is posted on the rear entrance notice board.
As previously the club will be open for normal hours for members every day of the week but on Sundays (the Stewardesses day off) we will be open until 10:30pm - operating an honesty bar for cans and bottles of beer and soft drinks . Members can sign for their purchases and pay at a later date.
I hope all these details are self explanatory and will not detract from your enjoyment of the club facilities.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking members who have already paid their subs for the year and would remind members who have yet to pay that Subs for the year are £155 for members under 65 and £125 for members over 65 with more than 5 years membership.
These can be paid by cheque or cash at the club.
Finally I would like to thank you for your support during the lockdown period and I look forward to seeing you all again in the coming weeks.
